This is a bulletin board that I made at the beginning of the semester, it was simply supposed to be something to add color to the floor. Prior to taking this class the multiple color boarders were my absolute favorite but now I realize how much more my eyes focus on the boarder as opposed to the board. The sizing of the letters is great, but the fact that the words are three different colors already pushes the board over the edge for the amount of different colors that should be used. In addition, the light purple makes the word "fun" hard to see. I wanted to emphasize that word but instead made it disappear. Because this isn't an informative board there really isn't any other text to read but I will admit that I am very guilty at handwriting information onto things so that they can be on certain paper or something but I realize how hard it makes the board to read and how unprofessional it looks.
For this board, although the snowman goes outside of the frame it was done intentionally and I really like its off centeredness.
In the future I need to remember to stick to three colors for the board and consider what those colors should be so that they all go together and can all be seen.
I will give propts to myself for making the bulletinboard a little more 3D with a nose that actually stuck out and the cotton cap.

Bulletin Board Review

This bulletin board is located in the Mckay Education building in room 205. I thought that is bulletin followed the main design rule very well. There were only 3 main colors used. The only thing that I would change about color choice would be the color of the fish. In this picture especially he blends into the background. The title is also very colorful, so that it stands out well against the background. It is also very large so that students could see it across the classroom. The manipulatives are in shapes of sea animals that are large enough to see from a few feet away but not from across the classroom. The numbers on the animals were too small to see from even a few feet away. The sea animals were good size for young students to make their own addition problems like the creator of this bulletin board intended. All in all I think this is a great bulletin board, and could be made better with just a few minor adjustments.

Bulletin Board

I chose to do this bulletin board because it looked like fun. There was a lot going on here. There was a lot of colors being used, which is kind of overwhelming. The background paper is very shiny and distracting. The letters in the name are all upper case and have shiny material as well. I didn't like that. I think it took away from the board. I think that it would've been better if it could've been interactive. I liked the shamrocks all over and that matched the title. The leprechaun was cute!

School's Out

This bulletin board caught my eye, so I thought it would be perfect to add to our blog. The creator of this bulletin board used bright colors, causing it to stand out. What I also enjoyed about the board was that it is an interactive board, providing both decoration and an activity for the classroom. One thing that I would have changed on this bulletin board was that I would have used a paper cutter to cut out the words and various objects. Overall, I believe that this bulletin board was great, and I would use it in my classroom someday.

I thought that this bulletin board was well put together. It is plain, which is a good thing! The person who created it used 3 colors which make it easy to follow and understand. I also like how the person used captions to explain each picture, however, the captions were small and kind of hard to read. The title is very bold and easy to read however, mixed case would have been a better option.
